Satya Nadella’s Statement!

Well, this world is not a fair place to work. It was Sudha Murthy in the mid 1970s who broke the barrier of gender bias and got onto the shop floor to work equally like men. That makes it obvious that they expect an equal pay for the work they do. But, the modern entrepreneurs don’t follow that thinking is what has been proven recently. It is not unknown to us about the recent buzz created by Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft about the hikes in women pay packages at an event for women in this corporate world.

"It's not really about asking for a raise, but knowing and having faith the system would actually give you the right raises as you go along. And that I think that might be one of the additional superpowers that, quite frankly, women who don't ask for a raise have. Because that's good karma, it will come back. Because somebody's going to know, that's the kind of person that I want to trust; that's the kind of person I want to really give more responsibility to."

This is what he stated. Now that’s not a crime to ask for rise in salary for the work we do. So he is trying to convince us by using big words like ‘karma’ in a world like this which doesn’t even know the meaning of the word. There is a lot of injustice done to women in terms of the salary they receive. Though they work equal to women for a particular post, they are asked to follow ‘karma’ where men are treated liberally. Women are not supposed to ask for hikes, but rather should have faith in this ‘system’ that will do justice as one moves on. Is that a fair statement? I mean, how much is this system taking care of working women?
If women don’t raise their voice against this bias, there wouldn’t be any change in this so called ‘fair system’. The project leaders and higher officials in fact should observe the work of their sub-ordinates closely and recommend for hikes in salary without gender discrimination as, with greater power comes greater responsibility. After all, even women calculate the budget of a household making money as the basis, not karma.
